I am honored to serve as the Executive Director of the nation’s largest, most effective dropout prevention program.Communities In Schools is changing the picture of education for students in Cleveland County. We combine the art of one-on-one relationships with the science of proven, evidence-based programs, and mobilize community resources and proven programs to achieve results and remove barriers that keep students from succeeding in school and life.
I am passionate about the work of Communities In Schools and the value that our program brings to the community. It is my firm belief that every student can and will succeed with the right supports, resources, and relationships. Therefore, dropout is not an option.
I challenge you to invest in Communities In Schools. The greatest measure of success is watching students who face incredible challenges push through and then come and say thank you for caring. A student struggles with depression gets help to stay in school and goes on to inspire others; a student whose male family members are in prison learns the importance of the choices he makes each day to show up and then continue with college. A student whose father can’t read pulls his grades from F’s to B’s in a single school year with the help of a Student Support or Graduation Coach. That is an overwhelming return on investment.
Today is the day. Now is the time for you to invest in a great work that is inspiring and equipping the next generation of Leaders. I believe in Communities In Schools.
